The Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTTC) is not merely a continuation of your personal yoga practice—it is a calling to live yoga, embody its wisdom, and share its transformative power with the world. Rooted in ancient tradition and structured with modern understanding, the YTTC builds on the foundations laid in the Yoga Certificate Course (YCC), and takes you deeper—into your own consciousness and into the skills necessary to become a competent, compassionate, and confident yoga teacher.
This 4-week intensive program offers a holistic blend of philosophy, practice, science, and teaching methodology. Whether your goal is to deepen your own practice or to begin a professional teaching journey, the YTTC equips you with the tools to do both.
Let’s explore the six pillars of the curriculum—each essential not only for personal growth but for your evolution as a future yoga educator:
As a yoga teacher, you are a guide—not just of postures, but of a path. The Principles of Yoga are the bedrock of your teaching integrity. This subject deepens your understanding of classical yogic philosophy, including the Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. You will explore the eight limbs of yoga (Ashtanga Yoga), the four paths of yoga, and the goal of human life (Purusharthas) from a yogic perspective.
Authentic Teaching: Offers spiritual and intellectual authority grounded in tradition.
Student Guidance: Helps you counsel students with clarity and depth beyond physical poses.
Inner Transformation: Aligns your personal growth with your teaching journey.
Global Relevance: Prepares you to teach yoga as a life science—not just a fitness trend.
Overview:
Effective yoga teaching requires an understanding of the body’s mechanics. This subject explores the anatomical structures and physiological functions influenced by yogic practices, including muscles, joints, bones, the respiratory system, nervous system, endocrine glands, and energy systems. You’ll study biomechanics, injury prevention, and alignment principles specific to teaching asana and pranayama.
Safety First: Enables you to protect your students by correcting alignment and recognizing limitations.
Adaptability: Helps you modify practices for various age groups, health conditions, and fitness levels.
Confidence in Instruction: Deepens your authority to explain yoga’s health benefits scientifically.
Therapeutic Potential: Builds a base for yoga therapy and therapeutic teaching.
Modern yoga teachers must address not only physical well-being but also mental and emotional resilience. This subject explores the psychology of yoga, including the mind-body connection, the role of the autonomic nervous system, and how yoga alleviates anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. Techniques include meditation, pranayama, yoga nidra, and mindfulness.
Emotional Intelligence: Equips you to understand and hold space for students with emotional needs.
Healing Through Yoga: Positions you as a guide for students seeking mental clarity and peace.
Curriculum Design: Helps you design classes that support not just fitness but psychological wellness.
Compassionate Presence: Makes your teaching more empathetic, grounded, and supportive.
Before advanced spiritual or physical work can begin, internal purification is necessary. This subject teaches the Shatkarmas (six yogic cleansing techniques) that detoxify the body and prepare it for higher practice. You’ll also master various Pranayama techniques, understanding their effect on nervous, respiratory, and energetic systems.
Neti – Nasal cleansing
Dhauti – Upper digestive tract cleansing
Nauli – Abdominal churning
Basti – Colon cleansing
Kapalabhati – Frontal brain cleansing
Trataka – Eye and mental focus purification
Energy Management: Enables you to guide students in regulating energy and emotions.
Spiritual Preparation: Shatkarma and pranayama awaken deeper layers of awareness.
Teaching Precision: Learn correct timing, sequencing, contraindications, and benefits.
Pranic Awareness: Introduces you to subtle anatomy (nadis, chakras), vital for advanced yoga.
True wellness is not limited to the absence of illness; it is the harmonious balance of body, mind, and spirit. This subject introduces you to a comprehensive approach to well-being that blends yogic principles with natural healing systems. You’ll learn how diet, sleep, emotions, daily routines, and spiritual practices contribute to total health. Drawing from Ayurveda, naturopathy, yogic lifestyle, and modern wellness science, this subject encourages you to live—and teach—yoga as a way of life.
Yogic lifestyle and routines (Dinacharya)
Diet and nutrition for different body-mind types
Rest, sleep, and rejuvenation
Emotional hygiene and energy balance

Comprehensive Wellness: Enables you to offer holistic guidance beyond the yoga mat.
Lifestyle Awareness: Teaches you how to integrate yoga into every aspect of life.
Preventive Wisdom: Empowers you to teach health promotion, not just physical practice.
Supportive Teaching: Helps you respond to students' lifestyle challenges with practical yogic solutions.
This is where theory meets practice. In this subject, you will refine your personal practice and develop the skills to lead a yoga class confidently. It covers asana instruction, pranayama teaching, guided meditation, relaxation techniques, bandhas, mudras, and kriyas. Emphasis is placed on voice projection, cueing, class design, sequencing, corrections, and modifications.
Demonstration and explanation of 60+ traditional asanas
Teaching methodology and ethics
Classroom management and student safety
Use of props and adjustments
Class planning and sequencing for different levels
Teaching Readiness: Prepares you to teach confidently in offline, online, or personal sessions.
Professional Tools: Equips you with essential techniques like verbal cueing, adjustments, and class flow.
Self-Confidence: Strengthens your own sadhana (practice) and refines your understanding.
Communication Mastery: Develops presence, clarity, and charisma as a teacher.
This subject expands your role from being a yoga instructor to a wellness educator, capable of inspiring transformation at every level of your students’ lives.
